Detailer drying a black hatchback with a purple towel at golden hour

HomeAftercare guide

Keep itglossy.

A coating’s lifespan depends on how it’s looked after. These simple steps keep your protection performing, and looking incredible, for years.

  • First 7 days: let it cure
  • pH-neutral, two buckets
  • No brush car washes
The first week

Days 1 to 7: let it cure.

A fresh coating needs about a week to fully harden. Go easy on it and it’ll reward you for years.

Day 1

Keep it dry for 24 hours

Avoid rain, sprinklers and heavy dew where you can. If it does get wet, don't wipe it. Let it dry on its own.

Days 1 to 7

No washing for 7 days

The coating is still hardening. Skip washes, and never use detail sprays, waxes or quick detailers in this time.

Anytime

Lift droppings gently

Bird droppings, sap or bugs? Soak with clean water and lift off with a soft microfibre. No scrubbing.

Washing

The safe wash method.

Most swirls come from washing, not driving. This method keeps your coating, and the paint under it, clean without scratching it.

  1. Rinse firstRinse from the top down to lift loose grit before anything touches the paint.
  2. Two bucketsOne bucket of pH-neutral shampoo, one of clean rinse water, ideally with grit guards.
  3. Wash top downA clean microfibre mitt in straight lines, rinsed often. Wheels and lower panels last.
  4. Dry gentlyA plush drying towel or a blower. Pat or drag lightly. Never a chamois, never hard rubbing.

Straight talk

What wears it down fast.

These are the things that shorten a coating’s life, or cause problems we can’t fix under our make-it-right promise. Avoid them and you’ll get the most out of your coating.

  • Automatic brush washes or high-pressure wands held close to the paint
  • Polishing, cutting or “scratch remover” products
  • Harsh degreasers, dish soap or acidic wheel cleaners on paint
  • Skipping washes for months so contamination bonds to the surface
